8 pilots turn out to hone their skills and have a chance at some of the prizes on offer. With an individual event and a team contest there was plenty to get involved in. this year saw larger scoring areas with the chance for even the average pilot to tot up scores.
With Jordan and Ben running lines the contest was off to a good start. The first heat saw team Mathews in the lead and keithW in the hot seat for the individual prize. The biggest overshoot mud bath in Suffolk kept pilots attention on the game with only a few “coming in short but eeking out” glandings to be had. Paul L on the last flight of the comp with the pressure of the whole event on his shoulders pulled it out of the bag, not only securing a team Hunt win, but the individual prize of 1st place for himself.
A fly off for second place between KeithM and Dnash brought the competition to a close with Dnash suffering a weak link and so forfeiting 2nd place to keithM.
Silky smooth conditions and no wind made this day pleasurable flying with skilled landing. Another great day at the Mendlesham tow site.
